    Very good

The hotel Quartier des Spectacles has recently been incorporated as the new wing of hotel l'Abri du Voyaguer and been renovated. Note that the name "Quartier des Spectacles" is not very evident. The entrance is on number 9 rue Ste-Catherine Ouest and is easier to find if you look for Abri du Voyaguer. The hotel is very centrally located on walking distance of most places of interest in Montreal, also close to Metro station and bus connection to airport. It is a no frills place, very clean rooms and with friendly staff.

It is in the red light district and next to a sex shop. Sometimes there were drunks/druggies hanging around at the entrance but we never felt unsafe. We stayed 12 nights.

    Very good

I've stayed at 4 star hotels where check-in is horrible but at this hotel we had no problem at all. The staff was super friendly and polite. The hotel is a 10minute walk from the bus central, 15minute walk from the gay village and 10 minute walk to the downtown shopping center.

There's currently construction going on in front of the hotel so it was noisy during the night

    Exceptional

Hotel staff was most helpful. Many Montreal attractions, shopping and restaurnats are within walking distance.

    Exceptional

The staff was very friendly and accommodated all requests as well as made good suggestions for dining, shopping and things to do. The room was very clean and comfortable in the ambiance of a historic setting.

Unfortunately there was construction on the street but this would not prevent me from returning and no doubt it will be completed to make the area more attactive to visit.

    the room was good.

Location is between 2 sex shop which is not apparent on website. Currently has major road works in area infront of hotel was also not declared. This was very noisy. Internet when working was fast but not always able to connect from room.

    Fabulous

Staffs are friendly and informative. The room was clean and well-kept. Nearby the Metro which makes travelling around the city easy. Getting food is easy as it is near Chinatown. Good Wifi access.

Hotel is located at the red-light area.

    Fabulous

Excellent location for downtown adventure. Parking lots locate just around the corner and cost $20 from 12p.m. until next 12p.m. Subway station is accross the street. All facilities were in working conditioin. Good staff.

Just pay attention that hotels' street number was # 9, not 17 as it specified on the website.

    Very good

I stayed at the hotel for five days whilst attending a conference. It doesn't market itself as a hotel for a business traveller so it's not fair to judge it on those grounds. It does market itself as a budget boutique hotel and, on those grounds, it does very well. The room I had was recently refurbished and was both tasteful and comfortable. It was also spotlessly clean which was maintained during my stay. Reception is manned 24 hours a day by friendly, helpful staff. The area nearby isn't especially nice but its being regenerated and you are only a block from the Hyatt and a nicer area. And while there were a couple of colourful characters, I never felt unsafe. Definately would recommend this place if you are on a budget.

    Superb

This hotel did not have any lift so carrying the bags is not easy there.

    Good

    Location

No coffee maker in the room or in the hotel. Construction just under our windows started at 8:45 on Sunday morning. Extremely noisy street at night (different people were talking loud and singing non-stop till 5 am). Outdoor parking was overpriced and attendees were ignorant. No elevator and lots of stairs.

    Superb

I believe this hotel is under new management so I am not sure how it was rated in the past but it was a very pleasant stay. The front desk people were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. The hotel is very clean and that's what made it comfortable. Our room was located on the side of the hotel and even with construction in the area we didnt hear a thing. The room is comfortable, the washroom was nice and clean medium sized with a very small shower but overall perfect especially for the price. Everything is within walking distance, we bought a 3 day pass for the metro but barely used it. Even the main station Berri uqam is within walking distance. It's quite, clean, comfortable and in a friendly atmosphere. I would definitely stay again!

    Good

Location, location, location. Although it is situated in the red light district (next door to a sex shop!), its location made it perfect for walking to all the sights in Montreal, as well as the Metro stations and the main Central rail station.

Too many stairs to negotiate when you're carrying heavy bags. Also, the place had a very stale smell about it, both in the entry staircase and in the room.

    The interior was quaint

The photos of this hotel were extremely misleading. I arrived at this 'hotel' to find it was above sex shops. I was completely shocked and left the hotel the next day.

Location was good in the centre of the city.

This hotel is a disaster and Booked.net should not use it. I am fairly easily pleased so this is not an overstatement! The miseey starts on arrival when you realise it is in the red light district and the hotel entrance is next to a sex shop. Then you have to climb many steep steps with your luggage. Then after booking in, you have to go back down those stepsand walk behind the building to a filthy back alley and enter the hotel again from the rear and climb fifty stairs again to be rewarded with a eoom that is outdated and a bit grubby. Towels old and hard. Nylon bedding with cigarette burns. Disastrous start to our stay in Montreali.
